Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal strongly condemned the statement of the Congress party on the visit of Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Shahbaz Sharif and said that it appears from the statement of the Congress leaders that they have forgotten the established and historic traditions of thePunjabto welcome the guests and the zeal to serve them. It is ironical that the Congress party has chosen to criticize the historic moment and initiative to build strong and healthy bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.

Too much politics by the congress highly condemnable: Dr. Cheema

In a hard hitting statement released from the party head office the SAD Secretary and spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that this action of the Congress party is irresponsible, unwarranted, mischievous and devoid of diplomatic courtesies.  Dr. Cheema said that frustrated over its defeat in the recent elections, the Congress party has gone berserk and has forgotten all the ethics and principles of dignified politics.  Instead of welcoming the esteemed guests from the neighboring country the Congress has stooped too low to indulge in such petty politics.

He said that it is most unfortunate that at a time when all the people of the state are wholeheartedly welcoming the initiatives taken by the Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal to promote public to public contact across the border which in turn will help in the long lasting peace in the region, the Congress party is resorting to issue such mischievous press releases.
