New Delhi: The Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Shahbaz Sharif was today received by Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia on behalf of Punjab Government here at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Leading a 20 member delegation Mr. Sharif has been visiting Punjab on the invitation of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal to grace the World Kabaddi Cup finals function as Chief Guest which was being played atLudhianabetween the teams ofIndiaandPakistanon December 14.

Shahbaz Sharif underlines the need for collective efforts to sort out bilateral issues
In an informal brief interaction with media persons, Mr. Sharif said that it was high time that both the countries should make collective efforts to sort out the bilateral issues thereby making a significant contribution in the rapid and overall development of the region. Speaking to the media persons, the Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia said that during his three Punjab visit besides gracing the World Kabaddi cup finals, Mr. Sharif would visit Sri Darbar Sahib, his native village Jati Umra (Tarn Taran), Mansa Thermal plant,PunjabAgricultureUniversity,Ludhianabesides interacting with the traders and industrialists ofPunjab. He said that both Punjabs’ have the joint potential to re-write the business priorities in the region as with more increased volume of bilateral trade through Attari border and others land routes, the whole business scenario could be changed. He said that it was also high time to enhance the trade activities through these land routes as with same culture we could complement each other by sharing our surplus productions within no time.
Mr. Majithia pointed out that Mr. Sharif would also interact with traders and industrialists importing as well as exporting their products through Bagha border so that collective efforts should be made to manifold the present trade volume. He said that Punjab has become a power surplus state andPakistanneeds power so the export of power as discussed in Punjab Deputy Chief Minister’s last year Pak Punjab visit could be materialized. He said that Mr. Sharif would visit the recently inaugurated thermal power plant in Mansa.
Underlining the need for stronger sports and cultural exchange ties between the both countries, Mr. Majithia pointed out that Kabaddi, the mother game of Punjabis playing a significant role in this direction and expressed confidence with too similarities of culture both the Punjabs’ would more passionately cooperate each other for overall development. He expressed confidence that the days were not far when our trade and industrial import-export would increase manifold. Mr. Majithia was accompanied by Ms. Kalpana Mittal Baruah, Principal Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan,New Delhiand Mr. Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Special Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister,Punjab.
