Education minister holds first meeting of state advisory committee

Chandigarh:State Advisory Committee's first meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Education Minister Punjab. Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka. Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the Punjab government said that four non-official members of this committee.Mr. Prem Mittal, Sh. Chatin Singh, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Mukhmailpura and vaninder Kaur loomba were present in this meeting.
 
He said all the members were asked to suggest various steps to improve the education system in the state. The members would visit Schools in their respective areas to check whether the various schemes   of the government are being implemented and to find out the deficiencies if any and to suggest the remedial measures for better implementation and facilitation to promote the standard of education system and   standard.
 
The Education Minister requested the members of the committee to give their suggestion various aspects in writing so that appropriate measures could be taken to promote the Education and its standard throughout the state. Describing details of Punjab State Advisory Committee Minister said the Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Education) was the official member and principle Secretary (Education) was the member secretary.
 
Ten non official members were Mr.Prem Mittal,Mr, Chattin Singh, Iqbal singh Jhunda,Smt. Harpreet Kaur Mukhmailpura, Smt.Vaninder Kaur Lumba (SAD), S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Sh.Jagmohan Singh Kang, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu ( Congress), Madam Seema Kumari (BJP) and Mr. Rajnish Kumar ( Indepenent).
 
The Meeting of the State Advisory Committee will be held once in every three months at Chandigarh. Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting were Smt.Anjali Bhawra, Principal Secretary Education, Sh. Kumar Rahul, Dirctor General School Education, Smt.Tajinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairman, Punjab School Education Board, Sh. Kamal Kumar Garg, DPI(Secondary), Smt. Darshan Kaur, DPI( Elementary) and Sh. Gurdeep Singh, Special Secretary School Education.
