New Delhi, Sep 27
The Supreme Court Friday said that the Indian cricket board can go ahead with its annual general body meeting and elect its office bearers, including its president.
However, the apex court bench headed by Justice A.K. Patnaik said that in case the outgoing president N. Srinivasan gets re-elected, he will not take charge of the cricketing body till it decides on a petition by Cricket Association of Bihar.
The Cricket Association of Bihar has moved the Supreme Court seeking to restrain Srinivasan from the becoming the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on the ground that his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan is facing probe on the allegations of spot fixing and betting.
The court directed the matter be listed for Monday.
