Masses be sensitized to get their illegal colonies regularized: Chunni Lal Bhagat

CHANDIGARH--    Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat, Minister for Local Bodies, Punjab today advocated the need for generating awareness among the masses about the need and urgency to get their illegal colonies, buildings and plots regularized in the stipulated time frame to avoid any legal action. In a press communiqué Mr. Bhagat issued advisory to the officers of all the Local Bodies to conduct special drive to aware the public in this regard.

 

The Minister said the applicants must be treated harmoniously during the regularization process and every help must be extended to them so that they could get their illegal structures regularized up to October 7. Mr. Bhagat said that the Punjab government while acceding to the demand of the public has extended the cut-off date up to October 7, to get the illegal structure regularized. He urged the public to make full use of this initiative and get their illegal colonies/buildings/plots regular by depositing nominal amount with the application.

 

He said that this policy is applicable only on the structures constructed before April 2013. Explaining the virtues of this policy Mr. Bhagat further said that the all such colonies which get themselves regular certificate would be extended basic amenities and infrastructure by the Punjab Government. He said that the facility of potable water, sewerage, street lights and roads would be provided to these colonies by Punjab Government.
