Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG to roll out in SAS Nagar from 1 November: Sidhu

S.A.S Nagar--  In order to avail transfer of cash subsidy into the bank account, 1 lakh 75 thousand consumers of SAS Nagar will have to fill bank linking form & LPG linking form before 15 October and is also necessary to provide bank account & Aadhar card details. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal singh Sidhu while presiding a meeting with Gas Agency owners of the district at district administrative complex. He said that Direct Benefit Transfer scheme will be beneficial to only those consumers who will submit requisite zerox copies of Aadhar number, Gas connection & Ban accounts to gas agencies as well as banks. He said that still a lot of consumers have not submitted their Aadhar card details to Gas agencies, hence in order to avail the benefits of the scheme it becomes necessary for such consumers to submit the Aadhar number & Bank account numbers to Gas agencies and banks well before 15 October.

Subsidized amount to consumer will directly get deposited in their bank accounts.

Consumers have to submit Bank account & Aadhar card details before15 October to get benefit of direct cash transfer scheme.

 

Deputy Commissioner said that as per the DBTL scheme, which is being implemented from 1 November in SAS Nagar, cash subsidy will get transferred for the LPG cylinders directly into the bank accounts of the LPG consumers while the sale will happen at the market price. He directed the Gas agency owners to spread awareness among people regarding DBTL scheme so that consumer submit the requisite documents well in time. He said that submission of these copies of Aadhar card, Bank Account, Gas connection will be compulsory & consumers could directly post the same at drop box placed at Gas agencies. Deputy Commissioner directed sh. Sarabjit Singh, District Food Supply Controller, to spread awareness among people through their department regarding DBTL scheme & also directed to organise awareness camps at village level for the same.


Sh. Puneet Goel Additional Deputy (Development) said that the consumers who fails to ssubmit Aadhaar and bank account by 15 October, will not get subsidized cylinders after 1 November. He said that consumers can also submit the documents at Suvidha Centres. Besides above, Bank linking Forms & LPG Linking forms are also available at www.petroleum.nic.in/dbtl for download. During the meeting Gas agency owners assured to provide help at every step for successful implementation of this scheme. Sh. Varyam Singh Chief Lead district Manager and owners of different Gas agencies were present during the meeting.
