Punjab constitute committee to utilize idle landholding of irrigation department

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has initiated the process to utilize the unused immovable property for the development work, in this direction a committee has been constituted to assess the average cost of the unused and idle landholding (Strips of Canal) belonging to the irrigation department in Punjab, so as to finance the irrigation projects.


Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Punjab government said that the financial commissioner revenue would be the chairman of the committee whereas principal secretary finance or his representative, principal secretary irrigation and secretary housing and urban development have been inducted in the committee as members. Deputy commissioner/district collector SAS Nagar would be the secretary of this committee.
