Senior BJP leader Prof. Rajinder Bhandari appointed vice chairman of Punjab State Planning Board

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government today appointed senior BJP leader Prof. Rajinder Bhandari as Vice Chairman of Punjab State Planning Board.


Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal gave nod to the appointment of Prof. Bhandari as Vice Chairman by clearing the file this morning.
It may be recalled that Prof. Bhandari, a former President of state unit of BJP, also served as Vice Chairman (Cabinet Rank), Punjab State Planning Board from 2011 to 2012 and played an instrumental role in strengthening the planning process in the state besides initiating new schemes and projects for an overall development of the state and welfare of people.

A post graduate in Commerce from Panjab University Chandigarh, Prof. Bhandari has been serving as Associate Professor in Commerce at Arya College in Ludhiana since 1979. Prof. Bhandari also represented as Senator of Punjab University from Graduates Constituency four times since 1996 and was elected Syndicate member of the Punjab Senate five times. He has been on most important university selection committees and other decision making bodies.
