Patil reviews the arrangements at Dhanas and Sarangpur

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil today visited Dhanas and IRB Complex Sarangpur along with senior officers of UT Administration, Chandigarh to review the preparedness of Prime Minister of India visit scheduled for 14th September to hand over the keys of 8448 flats constructed at Dhanas under the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme of JNNURM.


Mr. Patil inspected the dispensary, school and police post to provide facilities of health, education and to ensure security to 50,000 people going to reside in this Complex. He directed the concerned officers to plan and setup Solar Photovoltaic panels on roof top of all the flats. The Administrator also visited IRB Complex at Sarangpur and inspected the site of Helipad, 68 porta cabins and kitchen. He stressed upon setting up solar panels on roof tops of all the Cabins. He also appreciated the work done by officers at IRB Complex and said that all the modern steps taken by you to make this area more efficient and more comfortable would be helped by the Chandigarh Administration.


The Governor gave clear cut instructions and guidelines to all the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements should be made fool proof. He further said that law and order should be maintained at any cost. He also asked the officers to discharge their duties dedicatedly and devotedly to make this event success and memorable.


Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Mr. K.K. Sharma, Adviser to Administrator, Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. V.K. Singh, Finance Secretary, Mr. Anil Kumar, Home Secretary, Mr. Satya Gopal, Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board, Mr. Rajinder Upadhya, Inspector General of Police, Mr. Naunihal Singh, SSP, Mr. V.P. Singh, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Mr. Mohd. Shayin, Deputy Commissioner and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration.
