Kotlan Kalan: Reacting to the outburst of BJP, MP from Amritsar Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that it was an internal matter of BJP and was their sole prerogative to satisfy him. Talking to the media persons on the sidelines of a religious congregation organized at Sri Radha Krishan Temple, during the recitation of Srimad Bhagwat Katha here today, the Chief Minister said, “He didn’t perceive any personal problem with Mr. Sidhu and if at all the MP has any grouse then the state BJP leadership should take care of that”.
To another query with regard to scrapping of agreement for the construction of Sri Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi ropeway by the Congress Government in Himachal Pradesh, the Chief Minister appealed his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Mr. Virbhadra Singh to immediately resume the project, keeping in view its paramount socio-religious importance for both the states. He even offered to bear the entire expenditure of the project besides conceding to initiate this prestigious project from Himachal’s territory.
Replying to another question regarding the commencement of express train from Nangal to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded), the Chief Minister said that he would certainly take up this issue with the Union Railways Minister to expedite the schedule of chugging of this train between two important destinations as it would connect Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib and Takht Sri Hazur Sahib.
Asked to comment to accept Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narinder Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate during the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the Chief Minister categorically said that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) being a key ally of BJP would support any candidate for this coveted post. He expressed confidence that BJP led NDA would certainly form next government at centre showing the door to Congress led UPA government for their ‘misrule’ and maladministration over one decade. Mr. Badal pointed out that people were fed up with the rampant corruption, unemployment, poverty, inflation and starvation during its regime. He said that the UPA government has miserably failed to arrest the declining trend in the devaluation of Rupee, which has touched the lowest ebb several times recently.
Referring to the enactment of Food Security Legislation recently by the Centre, the Chief Minister said that there was nothing new in it rather the act was the ‘Zerox Copy’ of Atta-Dal scheme of the state government adding he said atlast by implementing this importance piece of legislation, the centre had realized that more than 80% of people could not manage to get two square meals a day. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal and SGPC Member from Himachal Pradesh Mr. Daljeet Singh Bhinder.
