Makkar on terrorists' hit list

Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar’s security has been reportedly beefed up following reports that the is  on terrorists’ hit list.

As per latest reports, Makkar has been provided bulletproof vehicle and number of his security guards has been increased to twenty.

Meanwhile, Makkar while talking to a vernacular newspaper expressed inability to board a bulletproof vehicle as he is suffering from knee-joint problems.

The SGPC chief claimed that he’s been getting death threats lately.

Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) leader Omkar Kalia on the other hand, flayed Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for enhancing the security of Makkar.

He questioned how Makkar who has honoured kin of Khalistani terrorists many a time be on hit list.

“Had it been possible for Badal, he would have gone on to provide ‘bullet proof’ plane to Makkar,” Kalia said.
