Gurdaspur: Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today said that after RBI Governor D. Subbarao has squarely blamed Congress led UPA for the domestic currency’s pathetic slide, it has no moral authority to govern the country. He also appealed the President of India to declare financial emergency in the country keeping in view the present precarious financial situation created by the UPA regime. It may be mentioned here that the RBI Governor delivering 10th Nani Palkhivala memorial lecture minced no words in highlighting the Union government’s total failure in tackling the most sensitive issue of economy of the country.
Interacting with media persons here, Mr. Majithia said that RBI was an independent and statutory body with impeccable integrity and its Governor’s outburst was not momentary rather it shows how the Finance Minister was desperately trying to impinge on its autonomy. He said that a day before Tata group's former head Mr. Ratan Tata had clearly indicted the present Union government for failing to control the notable devaluation of the Rupee. He said that it was not just the concern of India’s business houses but also a reflection on the UPA policies which had led the country into a deep financial crisis. He said that the concerns of top business houses of the country were the indication of more hard days as the Congress led UPA government seemed to have indifferent to all advices of financial experts. He said that with no international investor reposing faith in present regime's capability to pull the country out of this trouble, the various States too would suffer.
v Dares Bajwa & Tiwari to demand financial emergency in the country
v Punjab to promote traditional wrestling in big way
Mr. Majithia pointed out that the present ‘economists surplus’ UPA government has put the country in a hopeless situation by its wrong and anti-people policies as its all policies were tailor made to suit the few individuals like Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her coterie rather the welfare of common masses. He said that during Prime Minister Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee led NDA regime the growth rate of country touched 8 percent from 4.6 percent but now the 'world renowned' economists have plunged it to 3 percent. He said that after unleashing unprecedented inflation now it has ruined the overall economy of the country with rapid fall of rupee.
Later on presiding over the of 3rd day of 4-day Babehali Shinjh & Cultural Festival, Mr. Majithia congratulated S. Gurbachan Singh Babehali, Chief Parliamentary Secretary for organizing such wonderful traditional wrestling competition and said that traditional Indian wrestling isn't just a sport - it's an ancient sub-culture, where the focus was on living a pure life, building strength and honing their wrestling skills.
