Chandigarh: The process of filling of nominations for the forthcoming Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections is over today i.e. on May 7, 2013. Total number of nominations filed for Zila Parishad is 1321 whereas for the Panchayat Smitis 10085 nomination papers were filed. Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the State Election Commission said that the candidates could file the nomination paper up to May 7 by 3 p.m. He said that Ludhiana is the district which witnessed largest number (791) of candidates filed their nominations for Panchayat Samiti where as with the filing of 98 nomination papers for Zila Parishad, Sangrur stood first among all the districts.
