Vidya Balan shatters box office records when she does woman-centric films, and she is back to doing the same with Bobby Jasoos. The film, directed by Samar Shaikh and produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha, will see Ali Fazal being paired opposite Vidya. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Bonnie Chakraborty, Jashn grown on you after you have heard it for a few times. The song is quirky and has a subtle Hyderabadi music feel to it. The song is a celebration song and the composition aptly draws your attention towards the same. The music arrangement is something that really sticks onto your mind for long. However, this song is nothing too extraordinary.

Tu

Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Papon, this song has another reprise version as well. The song is a delight for all classical music lovers. The song is one of the best classical romantic track to have come up in almost a decade. The musical arrangement takes your pleasure quotient to another level with all the tablas, sitars and santoors. Papon and Shreya have given their heart and soul to the song, which is heard evidently. Kudos to Shantanu for having composed this astoundingly stunning track which generations to come can enjoy.

B.O.B.B

Sung by Neeraj Sridhar, this title track reminds you of Shantanu’s superhit track Zoobi Doobi from3 Idiots. The track takes all the various detective tunes made over the ages and adds all of them to this song. This might not be one of Neeraj Sridhar’s best tracks, but it definitely will fit perfectly into the screenplay of the film. This will serve as a background number for the film and will hardly work as standalone track.

Sweety

Sung by Aishwarya Nigam and Monali Thakur, this song is rhythmic but is nothing too great. The lyrics are quirky, but the song doesn’t click as a standalone track and might create some more drama when heard along with the visuals in the film. The beats are desi and good but this run-of-the-mill song is hardly able to capture your attention.

Verdict: Shantanu Moitra has tried to come up with a simple yet sweet album, but the compositions are nothing too great. Tu is the only saving grace of the soundtrack, which is definitely the best classical romantic track in a long time. But the fall side is that it too will be loved only by the connoisseurs of good classical music. Jashn too is okay, but rest of the tracks fall flat.
