Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa plays mentor to noted drug smuggler Kanwarjit Singh Pehlwan: Congress

Chandigarh: A day after SAD Secretary General Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa made scrupulous allegations against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, the Congress leaders hit back at him and alleged that Dhindsa is close relative and mentor of a noted drug smuggler Kanwarjit Singh Pehalwan had close links with D company and he facilitated Mumbai blasts.

 

In a statement issued here Congress leaders S. Surinder Pal Singh Sibia Vice President PPCC, Mr. Ramesh Singla PPCC General Secretary and Mr. Paramjit Singh Randhawa, Secretary PPCC said that Dhindsa was mentor of Pehalwan who is father-in-law of Dhindsa's son, Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa. Pehalwan is a notorious criminal and he had franchise rights of Daud Ibrahim in India. He also facilitated Mumbai blasts and a shipment sent by Pakistan was received
by him.

They stated that the name of Pehalwan also figured in the list of 'Dus numbri' (bad characters) of Punjab and his name is displayed on the notice board of police station Sarai Amanat Khan in Tarn Taran district. In police records he is shown as 'absent' though it is
mandatory for him to report in the police station every day. Being close relative of Dhindsa, Pehalwan is roaming free without fear of
Police.


The PPCC leaders said that Pehalwan was an absconder in a case under NDPC Act. They asked Mr. Dhindsa to ask his son's father-in-law to surrender before Punjab Police. They said that it before shifting to Dubai and then Mumbai, Pehalwan was involved in smuggling of narcotics and gold from Pakistan. They said that Dhindsa had no right to raise accusing fingers on him while he himself was supporting and protecting Pehalwan from the Police.

The Congress leaders said that Dhindsa had no moral right to raise an accusing finger on PPCC President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa. They said that Dhindsa was instrumental in acquittal of Pehalwan in many cases of drugs and gold smuggling registered against him. The PPCC leaders said that Pehalwan had close links with Maninder Singh Bittu Aulakh an Youth Akali Dal leader arrested by police in drug racket run by dismissed DSP Jagdish Bhola. Kanwarjit Singh and Bittu Aulakh shared stage with cabinet ministers Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Gulzar Singh Ranike and Talbir Singh OSD of  Majithia at a SAD function on October 27 at Amritsar. 

 

These pictures all holding each other's hand are available with Congress party and also published by leading newspapers. The Congress leaders demanded a thorough probe into the activities of Dhindsa family and father-in-law of Mr. Parminder Dhindsa. They said that Mr. Dhindsa was an arm chair politician who was time and again used by Badals for their ulterior motives. They said that Mr. Dhindsa must first explain past activities of his son's father-in-law before becoming mouth piece of Badal family to defame PPCC President. The Congress leaders reiterated for CBI probe into drug racket involving Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia.
