Punjab CM should handover synthetic drugs case to CBI: Congress

Ludhiana, January 7: Hundreds of workers of District Congress Committee (Urban), Ludhiana led by the district president Pawan Dewan staged a massive demonstration and dharna at Jagraon Bridge here today, to urge upon the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to hand over the synthetic drugs case allegedly patronised by Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and two other ministers of Punjab, to CBI for thorough investigations.

Addressing the protestors, Dewan alleged that Jagdish Bhola, arrested in the synthetic drugs case had named Majithia and two otherPunjabministers. He recalled that in the Rs.6,000 crore drug racket Bhola and Youth Akali Dal leader were arrested in the case. He said since beginning a close relationship between the accused and Majithia had started been exposing, adding and the news about running the alleged drugs racket by the three SAD-BJP ministers had been coming out.

 

MLA Surinder Dawar and District Mahila Congress president Leena Taparia alleged that the supply of drugs had been done by using read beacon cars and it was not possible without the patronisation of the state government. They said earlier too, former DGP (Jails) Shashikant did exposures of patronising drugs menace by the Akali leaders.

 

They urged that thePunjabchief minister Parkash Singh Badal should hand over the synthetic drugs case to CBI, so that names of the accused might come out. They said many questions arise with the attitude being adopted by the chief minister so far or he did not love with people of the state.

 

Protestors included Baljinder Singh Bunty, Jarnail Singh Shimlapuri, Palwinter Singh Taggar, Rakesh Sharma, Gurmukh Singh Mithu, Satwinder Singh Jwaddi, Sanjay Sharma, Kanwardeep Puppy, Deepak Hans, Sunny Kainth, Vinod Bharti, Rohit Pahwa and others.
