Majithia and Maluka attends cremation of Sharan Jagdish Singh Itten

Chandigarh: Mortal remains of renowned glass technologist Sharan Jagdish Singh Itten were consigned to flames at cremation grounds Sector 25 Chandigarh today amidst thousands of mourners and sympathizers who reached here to pay homage to the departed soul. Mr. Itten was father-in-law of Mr. Jangveer Singh, Media Advisor to Deputy CM Punjab who have passed away yesterday after a brief illness.  Mr Itten is survived by daughter Gurvinder Kaur.

 

The Revenue, Information & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia and Education Minister Mr Sikandar Singh Maluka laid wreaths on the behalf of Punjab Government during Mr Itten's last rites and also shared heartfelt sympathies and condolences with Mr Jangveer Singh. They also prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief.

 

Bhog and Antim Ardas to pray for the eternal peace of the soul will be held on January 12 from 12 PM to 01 PM at Gurdwara Sahib Sector 34 Chandigarh. Mr Itten, who worked with several multinationals, was known as a glass technologist of international stature. He had set up several glass plants on turnkey basis for various Indian companies. He also worked on honorary basis for several organisations including UNIDO.

 

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema MLA, Mr Suresh Arora Chief Director Vigilance Bureau, Mr Dinkar Gupta ADGP Intelligence, Mr Munish Tiwari Editor Daily Post, Mr Ashwani Kumar Director Information and Public Relations besides several media persons, officers, and prominent personalities from social and religious organizations.
