Punjab & Haryana High Court condoles the demise of justice Harbans Lal

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today convened a Full Court Reference to condole the sad demise of noted Justice, jurist and legal luminary Mr. Justice Harbans Lal, Former Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court in which all the judges of High Court took part.


While sharing the grief, the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that Justice Lal was a symbol of simplicity, dedication and commitment and was also known for his high professional caliber. He described the sad demise of Mr. Harbans Lal as a huge loss to the legal fraternity. Chief Justice further said that the legal fraternity has lost a great human being and legal luminary.


The other dignitaries, who paid tributes to the departed soul included; Mr. Ashok Aggarwal and Mr. Hawa Singh Hooda, both advocate Generals of Punjab and Haryana respectively and Dr. Anmol Rattan Singh Sidhu, Chairman, High Court Bar Association etc. It is pertinent to mention here that Justice Lal expired on November 29, 2013. He was also elected Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha from 1964-67.
