Chandigarh: Copying the Foreign Universities, Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar has started Admissions for January 2014 batch from today onwards. With this, PTU has opened doors for students from all over India to take admission in various technical courses in around 400 Colleges of Punjab. The admissions will continue till 19th January 2014.

Admissions open in 400 PTU affiliated colleges of Punjab from 2nd December to 19th January

As per the new decision by University, the students would be able to save their six valuable months by taking admission in January batch. However the course would be completed in same duration as prescribed by AICTE/ PTU. Welcoming the decision, an Education expert Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarhsaid that PTU is one of the only Universities in India which has given options to the students to seek admission twice in a year. This does not only brings flexibility in the system but also saves precious 6 months of students and parents. It also gives chance to colleges to have optimum utilization of resources.

It is to be mentioned that this new scheme would help thousands of Students who could not take Admission in July Batch either due to reappear or less percentage etc not only from Punjab but from other states. Students who are already admitted in 1st semester in other Colleges or Universities can also directly migrate in 2nd semester. He added that students having back log or reappear in previous exam can also take admission in January 2014 Batch under PTU.

It is to be mentioned that admissions under January Batch would be open only for few seats which remained vacant against the AICTE sanctioned intake in July 2013 Batch. This decision would help students to save their precious 6 months and study further.
