Chandigarh, : Directorate of Governance Reforms, Punjab organized a specialized training programme on ‘Public key Infrastructure (PKI) for e Governance Projects in coordination with Controller of Certifying Authorities ( CCA) Government of India , New Delhi and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC). this training programme was organised at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Punjab.
Disclosing about the motive of the training programme official spokesperson of the Governance Reforms Department said that this workshop was organized to equip all the departments with skills and knowledge on Public key Infrastructure (PKI ).
Spokesperson said that Additional Deputy Commissioners, Directors / Joint Directors, Additional Directors, Deputy Directors; Superintendent, Govt. representatives in State/Project e-Governance Mission Teams / Project Management Units (PMUs), Project Managers Nodal officers for e-Governance and officials involved in development and implementation of e-governance application, e-tendering, e-procurement attended this workshop. He said that these officials are expected to play crucial role in e-Governance implementation of State Government level e-Governance initiatives and e- Governance projects being implemented in the state under National e-Governance Plan(NeGP).
The specialized Training Programme on Public key Infrastructure (PKI) was conducted by Dr. Mohammed Misbahuddin, Senior Technical Officer, Computer Networks & Internet Engineering, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) from Bangalore and Sh. Prabhat Kumar, from Controller of Certifying Authorities, Government of India, CCA (GOI), New Delhi.
Spokesperson said that during the two hours Specialized program on Public key Infrastructure (PKI) for e Governance Projects, experts provided knowledge on Introduction to Cryptography , Symmetric & Asymmetric key Cryptography , Hash Functions , Digital Signature , Digital Signature Certificate , Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) , IT Act provisions , The Indian Scenario .
This training cum workshop programme ended with interactive session between the participants and the experts with the valuable exchange of knowledge about the use of this technology.
