Ultra modren tentage to come up for progressive punjab summit

Chandigarh,--- Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal today while taking stock of arrangements for the Progressive Punjab Summit being held on December 9-10 gave in principle nod for creation of an ultra modern tented structure at the Mohali multi purpose sports stadium to host the event. The Deputy CM also decided that the entire event would be held at the stadium. It was therefore decided that separate meeting halls would also be created at the site to accommodate small industry/ theme specific brainstorming sessions. 

 

Addressing a high level meeting comprising of Industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal, Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Adviser Industries Kamal Oswal and representatives of KPMG and CII, Mr Badal also directed the formation of committees headed by senior officers for various tasks and responsibilities. Industries Secretary Karan Avtar Singh while briefing the Deputy CM disclosed that invitations were being sent to corporates both in India and abroad and that there was immense enthusiasm amongst the industry and corporate sector to participate in the event. 

 

Mr Karan Avtar briefed that the main session would be held on December 9. He said on the same day there would be separate sessions on IT,ITEs, Bio Sciences and Health besides manufacturing and Agro and Food Processing industry. Mr Karan Avtar disclosed that the second day would have separate sessions for the Hardware and Electronics industry as well as Renewable Energy and Infrastructure. He said a separate session would focus exclusively on Taiwanese investment. The deputy Chief Minister also directed that all arrangements for the summit should be done in a professional manner and emphasised on ensuring the usage of modern communication tools. He also directed that the ongoing beautification and landscaping of the Sports Complex should be expedited. EOM
