CHANDIGARH-- Punjab Government issued a letter to all the head of departments, Deputy Commissioners, Registrar Punjab and Haryana High Court and District session judges regarding use of personal ledger accounts (P.L.A.). Divulging the details a spokesperson said that some of the state offices are not fulfilling the rules of Punjab financial rules and Punjab treasury rules.
He said that instructions have been issued that P.L.A. should be open with the permission of finance department and Audit General only. No Drawing and Disbursing Officer (D.D.O) would withdraw money from P.L.A. with the purpose to deposit in private bank accounts.
He further said that personal ledger accounts which are not operated since last three years would be close immediately and money credited in the account should be transferred to ‘receipt head’ in the concerned department. “Concerned D.D.O would ensure that P.L.A. pass book will be cross checked by district treasury officer at least once in a month “he added.
