Faridkot police recovers 2kg heroine of worth rs.10crore, two arrestes

Faridkot--   The Faridkot district police has made an important break-through in its drive against drug trafficking with the recovery of 2 kg of heroin worth Rs. 10 crore in the international market and arrested two persons namely Deputy Singh s/o Bagicha Singh r/o village Wan Tara Singh, PS Khalra, district  Tarn Taran and Gursahib Singh s/o Makhan Singh r/o village Wan Tara Singh, PS Khalra, district Tarn Taran.

                 Disclosing this here today, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Randhawa, SSP, said that acting upon receipt of specific information one person named Deputy Singh has been arrested on 28-9-2013 with one kg heroin and a case FIR No. 331 dated 27-9-2013 u/s 21 NDPS Act, PS City Faridkot was registered against him. Another case FIR no. 335 dated 28-9-2013 u/s 21 NDPS Act, PS City Faridkot has been registered against Gursahib Singh and he has been arrested with the recovery of one  kg of heroin and a Pak SIM card with marking ‘PTL’ on it, he added.

                 He said that the preliminary questioning of arrested persons has revealed that the heroin was of Pakistani origin and these persons were in contact with Pakistani smugglers using the Pak SIM card. Their village Wan Tara Singh was located very near the international border and the arrested persons would use the Pak SIM card by moving near the border and establishing contact on cell phone with Pak smugglers. Delivery would be done by throwing the contraband over the border fencing, and, subsequently the contraband would be collected by these persons. The arrested persons were nabbed in Faridkot district while attempting to deliver the heroin to further contacts in the supply chain, he further added.

                 He said the two arrested persons would be interrogated thoroughly to unveil the complete drugs racket, including the Pak providers, the route used and the contacts at the Indian end to whom the contraband was to be supplied. Further investigations are going on.
