Rahul represented voice of nation by opposing ordinance on tainted politicians: Fateh Jung Bajwa

Chandigarh,-    Mr. Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa General Secretary PPCC today in a statement said that by opposing ordinance on tainted politicians, AICC Mr. Rahul Gandhi had represented the voice of nation. He said that Mr. Gandhi had given a direction to policies of Congress party and set new agenda for future politics in India.Mr. Bajwa said that approach adopted by Mr. Rahul Gandhi had shown that interests of country were safe in his hands. He said that no other party has clear vision about the issues which demand immediate attention for bringing reforms in political system.

 

He said that Mr. Rahul Gandhi had proved that he would not compromise on principals and do not allow democratic values to melt down. He said that his bold stand had made it clear that he would spare even his party if decisions are not in the interest of common people. He said that nation had welcomed the statement of Mr. Rahul Gandhi opposing any lifeline to convicted political leaders. He said that now the ball was in the court of other political parties to show similar guts and follow Mr. Rahul Gandhi to keep tainted politicians at arms distance.

 

Mr. Bajwa also welcomed the decision of Supreme Court to give the right to reject to voters. He said that it was landmark judgment and will ensure only clean and deserving people contest the elections. He said that Supreme Court had given historical judgment on July 10 last under which anybody who is convicted and sentenced to two years or more imprisonment will not be eligible to contest the elections. “We respect the Supreme Court decision”, he added.
