Tewari seeks early start of Amritsar-Uttrakhand train

LUDHIANA--  Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has sought the early start of the Amritsar-Lal Kuan
(Uttrakhand) train via Chandigarh which has already been approved by the Railway Ministry.Tewari said, the rail will provide a long awaited important rail link between people of Punjab and the Punjabis settled in the Terai region of Uttrakhand. He said, he had been told that the train was to start from July but has been delayed so far.

 

The Minister also sought the stoppage of the train at Bazpur railway station which is an important halt. Under the current schedule there is no halt of the train at the Bazpur railway station. Besides, he also suggested that the train be named suitably so that people know about the places and routes on which it is operating.Currently its name is Amritsar-Lal Kuan. He said, it needs to be specific and clear.He thanked the railway ministry for providing such an important link between people of Punjab and the Terai region of Uttrakhand
