Congress MPs from punjab limited to press statements, did nothing for state- Majithia

Patiala,---    The Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today accused Congress MPs from Punjab of adopting negative stance to deliberately stalling the rightful due of state in central taxes and projects thereby not only causing an irreparable financial loss to the state but also betraying the trust of the people of state who had got elected them in last Lok Sabha elections.

 

Addressing an impressive gathering at Prem Bagh Palace in a felicitation function organized by Senior Akali leader Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Sandhu for the newly elected representatives of Zila Parishad and Block Samities, Mr. Majithia Mr. Majithia asked all 8 congress MPs, including three Minister from Punjab, that were they sleeping when their colleagues from Bihar and UP got special packages for their states. He said that their destructive politics costing state dearly and the people were not getting the desired overall development. He dared them to show guts and concern for their own state now, when UPA was all set to extend industrial concessions to neighbouring states.

 

He said that the Punjab government would oppose this move and SAD-BJP MPs would not allow this nefarious design to succeed. He said that the Punjab congress MPs were limited to issue press statements that too in Punjab rather raising any issue of constant injustices being meted out to the state in Parliament. He said that the intelligent electorate of Punjab would ensure the pack up of these non performing “liabilities” in coming general elections.

 

Firing a political salvo on local Congress MP, who is a Minister of State also in Union government, by pointing out her non performance, Mr. Majithia asked that what she had done for the city or constituency since 1998? He said that it was high time for Patialvis to hand over the responsibility to SAD-BJP MP to ensure rapid development and sanctioning of central projects for the region.Mr. Majithia lamented that on the other hand Congress was a major bottleneck in ensuring the victims of ’84 Sikh massacre, taken place in the streets of national capital, as it was not only shielding the main culprits but also giving them high posts. He said that yesterday in Delhi taking part in National Integration Council (NIC) meeting, he pointed out that such issues needed to be addressed with utmost seriousness to bring about the emotional integration of our people by assuaging their hurt sentiments.

 

Mr. Majithia said that all economic policies of UPA government were tailor made to benefit the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s coterie of relatives and colleagues and resulted in an embarrassing growth rate of just 4 percent in comparison of 8 percent during NDA regime. He said that roof piercing inflation coupled with careless attitude of this the present ‘economists’ surplus UPA government has put the country in a hopeless situation. He said that after unleashing unprecedented inflation now it has ruined the overall economy of the country with rapid fall of rupee and its most experienced doctor, a world renowned economist, was failed to cure the ailing rupee. Exhorting the people of state to lead nation in getting rid of most corrupt and in-efficient Congress led UPA government by using their ballot power, Mr. Majithia said that it had taken the country to the brink of economic disaster. He said that time has come to install NDA government in Centre to ensure balanced development of the country.

 

Earlier, Mr. Majithia exhorted the newly elected rural representative to play a proactive role to accomplish the development works of their respective areas and serve the rural population with commitment. He said that the youth have a definite role to play an important role for the overall development with special focus on education, sports and social service in their respective villages leaving behind their local differences to make Punjab a No.1 State in the country.
