Sangrur: Exhorting the people to form the NDA government at the centre, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that if BJP leader Mr. Narendra Modi was elected as the Prime Minister of the country then it would further help in giving impetus to the overall development of the state. Addressing the mammoth gathering at a state level function organized to mark the birth anniversary of Bhai Lalo Ji here today, the Chief Minister said that the entire BJP leaders especially Mr. Modi were having a pro-Punjab stance, which would help the state in ushering in an era of unprecedented development in the state. He said that if Mr. Modi was elected as the Prime Minister of the country then the state government would be able to get more funds and projects from the centre which would give boost to the overall growth of the state. So Mr. Badal impressed upon the people to ensure the victory of the SAD-BJP alliance on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state in the ensuing general elections.
The Chief Minister bemoaned that the continuous discrimination meted out to state by the Congress led UPA government has adversely affected the prospects of the state in a number of ways. Therefore he said that the need of the hour was to show a door to the UPA government at the centre by constituting the NDA government in the ensuing Lok Sabha Polls. Mr. Badal said that this would go a long way in putting the state on high growth trajectory besides ensuring the well being of the people in a holistic manner.
Lashing out at the Congress led UPA government in the Centre, the Chief Minister said that due to the long misrule of the Congress the country was confronting a large number of social maladies like unemployment, illiteracy and poverty. He said that the sky rocketing prices of the essential commodities coupled with the regressive policies of the Union government has further accentuated the woes of the countrymen. Likewise Mr. Badal said that due to the wrong policies of the Union government the industry and agriculture of the state has been ruined adding that due to the anti-farmers stance of the Centre the hard working and resilient farmers of the state were on the verge of economic disaster.

Taking a dig at the state Congress leadership, the Chief Minister said that in the dearth of any issue against the state government, the Congress leaders have unleashed a malicious campaign regarding the financial position of the state. He said that the state government would soon double the beneficiaries under the Atta-Dal scheme besides providing scholarship to the meritorious students under Dr. Hargobind Khurana scholarship scheme, which was a testimony to the fact that the state government’s fiscal health was very good. Mr. Badal said that the Congress leaders were trying to mislead the people of state by their propaganda but the wise people of the state were well aware of their dubious character so they would not get swayed away by these political gimmickries of the Congress leadership. Reiterating that the fiscal condition of the state was sound enough to meet the day to day expenditure of Punjab, the Chief Minister said that the state was on the path of resurgence as the state government was leaving no stone unturned to ensure the overall development of Punjab.
Earlier paying rich tributes to Bhai Lalo Ji, the Chief Minister announced that in order to perpetuate the rich legacy of this great legend, the state government would organize a state level function in his memory every year, so as to acquaint the coming generations about his ideals of hard work and community kitchen. Mr. Badal said that these functions would be held across the state every year so that people must get inspiration from life and ideals of this great spiritual leader. He said that prior to the SAD-BJP government nobody has ever bothered to construct the monuments of great spiritual and religious leaders but from the very first day of their regime they have been focusing on erecting the memorial to pay befitting tributes to our great Gurus, saints and seers.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced to name the ITI Dhuri on the name of Bibi Rajji, the daughter of Bhai Lalo Ji.
