CHANDIGARH-- The Punjab Government in order to ensure the completion of all the ongoing projects and to provide the essential basic amanitas to the inhabitants of the rural area has disbursed an amount of the Rs.66.29 crore. This grant would be spent in stipulated time frame. It was disclosed by Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Punjab in a press communiqué released here today.
Mr. Rakhra said that Rs.66.29 crore was released to all 22 districts received from the 13th Finance Commission. He said that this amount was spent for development of basic infra structure of villages, roads and sewerage system strengthen, potable drinking water, street lights etc. The Minister further said that department has also issued strict instruction to all districts for proper utilization of the funds.
Mr. Rakhra while divulging the detail of the amount disbursed to the all districts, said that an amount of Rs.4.80 crore has been disbursed to Amritsar, Barnala Rs.1.50 crore, Bathinda Rs.3.30 crore, Faridkot Rs.1.46 crore, Fatehgarh Sahib Rs.1.59 crore, Fazilka Rs.2.65 crore, Ferozpur Rs.2.63 crore, Gurdaspur Rs.4.78 crore, Hoshiarpur Rs.4.91 crore, Jalandhar Rs.4.32 crore, Kapurthala Rs.2.10 crore, Ludhiana Rs.5.49 crore, Mansa Rs.2.23 crore, Moga Rs.2.97 crore, Mukatsar Rs.2.36 crore, Pathankot Rs.1.62 crore, Patiala Rs.4.28 crore, Ropar Rs.2.03 crore, Sangrur Rs.3.92 crore, SAS Nagar (Mohali) Rs.1.77 crore, SBS Nagar (Nawanshar) Rs.2.06 crore and Taran taran has been provided the finical assistance of Rs.3.41 crore.
