No threat of terrorism revival in Punjab-Sukhbir

FEROZEPUR-- Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today categorically said that there was no threat of revival of terrorism in Punjab and the state would not allow any terrorist module to lift its ugly face again in the peaceful atmosphere.

Vat refunds under new policy to start soon

 

          Mr. Badal was addressing media persons here after laying foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs. 111 crores with laying foundation stone of Sewerage and Sewage Treatment Plant at Ferozepur City, inaugurating Ferozepur City to Pharymal Bhalla, Ferozepur Mallanwala Road to Ferozepur City, laying foundation stone of water supply scheme at Mallanwala, inaugurating ceremony of Mallanwala to Sabhraon Road, inaugurating Sewerage Treatment Plant ar Zira besides laying foundation stone of Sewerage and Sewage Treatment Plant at Talwandi Bhai. The Deputy CM also rubbished the revelation of numbers of terrorists in Punjab and said that there was no revelation of number of terrorists in the state and the state would not allow anyone to operate such activities.

 

           Appreciating the vigilant efforts of Punjab Police, the Deputy Chief Minister, who is also holding the Home portfolio, said that the Punjab police has recently foiled several Pakistan trained militant modules and arrested the main kingpins from different parts of the state .He added that Punjab Police was delivering its duty more vigilantly than central agencies, which has remained failed to foil nefarious designs of militants. On being asked about the VAT refunds, Mr. Badal clarified that the assessments were on the verge of completion and it would be completed within a short span of time. He said that under the new VAT Refund policy of Punjab Government the disbursement of VAT refunds would be started soon as per the categories A, B and C earmarked under this policy.

 

          Answering a query regarding Dearness Allowance to Punjab employee, Mr. Badal assured that the DA would be given soon and said that Punjab was the single state, which disbursed Rs. 7000 crore to its employees as per the recommendations of Pay Commission. He said that there was no issue of DA; it was just due to hollow hue and cry created by PPCC President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa. He said that Punjab Congress was not aware of economics of the state and despite that they were playing the role of ‘State’s Enemy’ by criticizing state on each front on the basis of misleading and wrong data.

 

          Earlier Mr. Badal also announced that Deputy Commissioners of all districts have been directed to complete the survey for inclusion of fresh beneficiaries to Atta-Daal Scheme. He said that within next two month the survey would be completed and more than 30 lakh families would be able to get the benefit of this ambitious welfare program of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal.
