'Death penalty' an exemplary punishment to the culprits of Delhi gang rape case-Harsimrat Kaur Badal

BATHINDA: Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member Parliament Bathinda has expressed full faith in the Indian judiciary system for setting up a milestone by giving death penalty to the accused in notorious Delhi gang rape case.


This sensational rape case has deeply shaken the hearts of the Indians with profound grief and anguish. “Now this exemplary punishment given to these anti social elements would act as deterrence for all the anti-social elements for committing such a heinous crime", said Mrs. Badal,

  • Disburses development grant to the villages in Sangat Darshan programmes

Addressing a gathering during a Sangat Darshan programme she said that the Congress led UPA government has completely failed to provide security to women and instead of curbing the crime against women such ghastly incidents like rape were constantly on rise.


Mrs. Badal also disbursed development grants to the Panchayats of Villages Dhan Singh Khana, Phoos Mandi, Gulabgarh, Jassi Poh Wali, Jodhpur, Rumana, Naruana, Bir Talab, Multani and Mianwind. She said that in the changed scenario society has to mend its collective thinking towards the women folk, who has equal role to play in the progress of any nation.


Answering a query of the media on the issue of financial status of Punjab, Mrs. Badal said that the congress party has launched a false propaganda against Punjab, whereas on the other hand the financial health of the Congress led UPA Government is precarious. She said that the union government has brought the economic growth rate from 10% to 4 %. She said that due to the disoriented policy of the union government inflation and employment has achieved new heights in the country and the people are reeling under the burden of price rise. She said that the statistics of RBI depicting Punjab among the first three states with high inflow investment is indicative of SAD-BJP Government efficiency. She said that the Congress led UPA Government has been diverting the funds of states for their own profligacy.


Member Parliament from Bathinda listened to the grievances of the people and redressed their problems at the moment. Mrs. Badal also gave away utensils and sports kits for the collective use of the Panchayats. Prominent among other who were present in the Sangat Darshan programme included Mr. Saroop Chand Singla CPS, Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav Deputy Commissioner Bathinda, Mr. Rav Charan Singh Brar SSP, Mr. Darshan Singh Kotfatta MLA, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Maluka Chairman Zila Parishad, Amarjit Singh Sidhu and Mr. Sukhman Singh Sidhu both Senior Akali leader.
