Two Class 12 students were arrested here for abetting the suicide of a teenage girl, police said Monday.

Priya, 18, resident of Safeda Nagar near Pataudi town, some 26 km from here, Sunday committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house.

Pritam and Praveen Kumar - both 18 - were arrested for abetment to suicide, police said. Both were studying in Class 12 in a private school.

"Pritam was sent to jail under judicial custody while Praveen would be produced before the court Tuesday," Anil Kumar, chief of Pataudi police station, told IANS.

The duo had allegedly forced Priya to befriend one of their friends saying that they would otherwise defame her, police said. She was a Class 12 student in a government school in Pataudi.

"Our investigations are on and there may be some more arrests," police said.
