CHANDIGARH: Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Mohali has crossed Rs. 2000 Crore of software export mark, which is a milestone for Tier II city. Disclosing this here today Mr. Anil Joshi, Industries and Commerce Minister, Punjab said that during the financial year 2011-12, the export from this region was Rs. 1942.82 Crore and in Financial Year 2012-13 the export is approximately Rs. 2143.70 Crore and also creating employment opportunity for 30,000 professionals.
He said that the STPI Mohali region has emerged as the top most Tier-II city in the Northern India & has emerged as the second best tier II city in all India bases. The region has around 170 units in which most of them are Small Medium Entrepreneurs. The region has the capability to develop into the product development as around 20 SME are into the product development & their product is acceptable worldwide. Some of the units are M/s. Infosys Ltd., M/s. Dell International Services , M/s. IBM Daksh, M/s. IDS Infotech Ltd., M/s. Nvish , M/s. Agilyst, M/s.S.E Biz Infotech, M/s. Heron Healthcare M/s. Care Fusion, M/s. Winshuttle, M/s. Smartdata Enterprises, M/s. Bebo Technologies, M/s. Net Solutions, M/s. Basware Corporation etc.
Mr. Joshi said that our vision is to deliver Statutory & Data Communication services in more effective way & create a centre of excellence with a special stress on small medium entrepreneurs & young entrepreneurs. He said that STPI continue to invest in up gradation of the centre & support the activities which are critical for the development of the IT exports from this region. He said that state is coming up with the Incubation center of approx 1.40 lac square feet at Mohali, with an investment of Rs 55 Crores.
