Badal releases Punjabi poetry book ‘GWACHE WARQ’

Chandigarh,--   The Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today released a book of poems ‘Gwache Warq’ in Punjabi penned by an eminent author and columnist Mrs. Bubbu Tir, the daughter of legendary Punjabi writer, legal luminary & Akali leader Dr. Gurnam Singh Tir, here at Punjab Bhawan in a simple but impressive function this morning.


          Addressing a distinguished gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister highly appreciated the writing skill of Bubbu Tir who
inherited this rare acumen from her father, with whom he enjoyed cordial ties since long and often consulted him on several political issues. Recalling his family ties with them, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Tir was god gifted with a wit of satire and earned a sobriquet of ‘Chacha Chandigariah’ through his prolific writings in the esteemed columns of the newspapers especially the vernacular hitting hard at the social evils which plagued the society as a pioneer of humorist writings. He said it was a matter of great pride that his daughter Bubbu Tir has perpetuated the legacy of great Punjabi writer and political visionary.



          Earlier, welcoming the guests on her book release function, Bubbu Tir said that she was really indebted to Mr. Badal for releasing her third book ‘Gwache Warq’.  She said though she was bi-lingual yet fully committed to Punjabi for over last one decade. Bubbu Tir said that she has always endeavored to bring about a positive change through her writings. She lauded the efforts of Mr. Badal for giving due respect and honor to the litterateurs and said lot more was still to be done for their well-being especially during the sun-set of their life.


          Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion, included Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa besides eminent personalities from different walks of life.

She has always written and inspired to depth of roots.
