In 2013 Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal Films filed a case on popular distributor Abhirami Ramanathan and theater owner association’s president Paneerselvam as they openly said in interviews that they will not allow Vishwaroopamrelease.
The verdict on the case is expected soon from Competition Commission of India (CCI) and it looks like Kamal’s side is having the upper hand. Sources say that both Ramanthan and Paneerselvam have to pay hefty fine amount to CCI and they have recently met Kamal on this issue.
Sources suggest that Abhirami Ramanthan has bought the Chennai city rights of Uttama Villain and have asked Kamal to withdraw the case but the actor has refused to bow down.
Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain is slated for release on April 10.
