The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today announced the appointment of Captain James Donald Pound of St. Catharines, Ontario, to the board of directors of the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority for a term of three years.
Captain Pound has been a marine consultant for JPMS Services Inc. since April 2014. Before that, he occupied various positions with the Algoma Central Corporation, where his last position was Vice-President, Operations, from 2011 to 2014.
Since 2009, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario.

- The mandate of the Great Lakes Pilotage Authority is to establish, operate, maintain and administer in the interest of safety, an efficient pilotage service within the Great Lakes region for commercial vessels.
