The festival of colours is just around the corner and everyone is gearing up to have the time of their lives
We caught up with a few stars to find out more about their plans, theirfavourite Holi songs and the most memorable Holi moments. While we did find a lot of interesting answers, it was wonderful to see these actors, who have been working non-stop taking time out to spend Holi with the family and friends. And they all preach for a safe Holi, so do we!
Veebha Anand: I am the kind who can play Holi with anyone and everyone. But yes, it would be fun going back home and celebrating the festival with my extended family and childhood friends. My best Holi was last year as I celebrated it with my family and the cast and crew of Mahabharata. We had a rain dance for three to four hours. Later, I surprised my friend (Preeti Chaudhary) by going to her house and drenching her in colours.
Ridhi Dogra: I would love to celebrate Holi with my childhood friends. Most of us have drifted apart. Holi reminds me of my childhood in Delhi. The festival always fell between our final term exams. In a way, it was even more fun because it gave us a legitimate excuse to escape from studies. Holi means happiness for me.
Mohammad Nazim: Years ago, in school, I had a tiff with a friend. After that, we drifted apart and I don’t even know where he is today. I would love to give our friendship a second chance this Holi. I am a Muslim, but I play Holi for fun. In fact, my entire family celebrates it. My best Holi was 10 years ago, when I celebrated it with my cousin in my home town. We even threw eggs on people; I have never had so much fun ever. All my Holi memories have been pleasant.
Gunjan Utreja: I never hold grudges, so there is no one to forgive on Holi. I would like to meet some school friends, who have vanished from my life, this Holi. The festival was great fun during college days. We used to celebrate in huge groups and would apply colours on beautiful girls, even if they were strangers. There are no bad memories, but I haven’t celebrated the festival for the past two-three years.
Vivian DSena: This Holi, I would love it if my entire family and friends – without omitting a single person – could come together. Actually, I do have a wish; I want to play Holi once with Rekhaji on any song. Dancing and celebrating with her itself would exciting.
Adaa Khan: My best Holi was last year, when I was together with close friends Ankit Gera and Dimple Jhangiani. I went to Rajan (Shahi) sir’s home. All of us had a blast during the rain dance and throwing colours on each other. My worst Holi was years ago. I was walking alone on the street when some hooligans started throwing balloons at me.
Darshan Raval: Holi means a lot of colours and happiness. Every year I secretly go to my friends’ places and colour them completely. It’s really fun looking at their shocked and coloured faces. My favourite Holi song is ‘Balam Pichkari’.
Rituraj Mohanty: I do not play Holi anymore but the childhood memory of the festival that I have is of when my mom mixed colours in warm water and filled the pichkaris. I was so notorious that I would use the pichkaris on her first and later on the others. As I grew up I started playing with my friends. We would go out on bikes applying colour on everyone we met on the way. I miss the kheer that my mother used to make for me every Holi.
Rohit Roy: I celebrate Holi with my friends at Shabanaji and Javed Akhtar’s house every year. It is so much fun as it is a small intimate bunch. Of course I’m totally in love with Shabanaji! Before this, we used to play Holi with the Bachchan’s and the high point of the evening for all of us used to be dancing with Amitji on Rang Barse! All of us would imitate him while dancing with him!
Divyanka Tripathi: My favourite holi song is Balam pinchkari for its fun quotient which goes with Holi. And I hope to play holi with Shah Rukh Khan. He is the king of romance. To put colour on him would be fantastic.
