Holi has always found a special place in Bollywood films and we aren’t surprised coz this festival is not just about colours but also signifies naach gaana and loads of masti

Just like us, B-town celebs also celebrate the  festival of colour every year with gaiety. While we don’t get a peek-a-boo on how they enjoy Holi off screen, we have surely seen most of the actors play with colours, gulp down the bhaang and then enjoy its side effects at least on the big screen. Wink wink! In that case, Bollywood has indeed given us iconic Holi moments, hai na? So on this colourful occasion, we take a look at some of the memorable Holi scenes from Hindi films which have been captured beautifully

Sholay: This list would be incomplete if didn’t mention Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer 1975 blockbuster. We all remember Gabbar Singh saying in his dumdaar voice, ‘Holi kab hai, kab hai Holi?’ But that’s not the unforgettable scene; it’s the one where Dharmendra (Veeru) gets the chance to romance Hema Malini (Basanti) thanks to Holi.

Darr: Now we all remember this one for sure. Sunny Deol (Sunil) and Juhi Chawla (Kiran) are enjoying the Holi celebrations and that’s when Shahrukh Khan (Rahul) gatecrashes their colourful party just to tell K-K-K-Kiran how much he loves her. It’s a scary scene but surely one of best Holi scenes from Bollywood wethinks!

Raanjhanaa: Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush’s unconventional love story also makes it to our list. Yaad hai the scene where Sonam (Zoya) colours Dhanush (Kundan) during Holi and the latter is overjoyed? The simplicity through which the filmmaker has captured the innocent love between these two actors amidst Holi is just amazing.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Deepika Padukone (Naina) and Ranbir Kapoor (Bunny) groove to the peppy Holi song Balam pichkari after which Dippy decides to confess her feelings to Ranbir. But sadly she doesn’t as she realises both of them want different things in life.

Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela: Sanjay Leel Bhansali is one filmmaker who has managed to capture Holi onscreen in the most beautiful way. In Ram-Leela, its during Holi that Deepika (Leela) and Ranveer (Ram) first lay their eyes on each. While Singh is completely smitten by the beauty in front of him, DP looks breathtakingly gorgeous in her yellow attire. What follows is even more interesting. The duo flirting amidst Holi celebrations and even sharing a kiss. Now this is one Holi scene we all aren’t going to forget..ever!
