Aamir Khan’s PK is on a blockbuster run. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial has been setting unbreakable benchmarks with every passing day and here’s it’s latest victory by becoming the highest grosser, overthrowing Khan pillars, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

PK being the fastest Rs 200cr grosser has raced way ahead of Ek Tha Tiger,Kick, Happy New Year and SRK’s 2013 blockbuster, Chennai Express. In the highest grosser list, “PK” has grabbed the fourth position, pushing “Chennai Express” and “Happy New Year” to fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

While Kick lost the battle at the domestic box office, Happy New Year and Chennai Express have given up to PK’s sky rocketing scores at the overall international market, across the globe. Breaking up the stats, PK earned Rs 263.5 crore from the domestic windows and ₹112.58 crore (17.7 million USD) from the International market. Which sums it to a total of over Rs 376 crores, far ahead of SRK and Salman’s blockbusters. Now isn’t that one unbeatable box office war? In fact, the highlight of this PK victory is that the film has achieved such remarkable returns within its 2 week tour at the box office. And despite facing protests from the religious communities, the film is roaring loud. Salute!

Speaking of which, Amrita Pandey, the VP and Head of Marketing and Distribution of Disney India said, “The film has performed phenomenally well – and is now the highest grossing Hindi film ever in its first week in India, North America, Australia and many more. Most importantly, the movie has seen an unprecedented growth trajectory. The occupancy rates in most theatres all over have been very encouraging. We look forward to a long theatrical run for the movie!”

It’s PK all the way!
