Student Of The Year may have been a film that marked Varun Dhawan and Sidharh Malhotra’s entry in Bollywood but the plot of the same seems to be their current reality. Two good friends who compete with each other, a scenario which was put forth by Karan Johar on celluloid but is being lived by the two as of now.

While Varun seems to be the more popular lad on the block, we hear that Sidharth is emerging as the dark horse in the race. Here are reasons to substantiate the same:

Talk of the town

Varun is shooting for his film ABCD 2 opposite Shraddha Kapoor and has been upfront about his whereabouts. Sidharth, on the other hand, is busy with Brothers but has kept a silent front on the same. Surprisingly though, Sidharth is the hot topic of B-town, we hear. Be it his beafed up bod or scruffy stubble, Sid’s look in the film is a topic of discussion for many!

Lady luck

Varun recently stepped out with his girlfriend Natasha Dalal for a movie date. The pictures of his outing, however, haven’t managed to compete with Sidharth and Alia Bhatt’s relationship rumours, which refuse to die. Interesting, considering the fact that Varun has been linked with Alia earlier as well. Looks like lady luck is in Sid’s favour indeed!

An offer he can’t refuse

Our little birdies tell us that Sidharth is being offered more films as compared to Varun. If we do the math, ABCD 2 will be Varun’s fourth film and Sid’s Brothers will be his fourth as well. However, Sid supposedly has a greater market value in comparison with Varun, which makes him one of the most discussed actors of the new lot .

Cons of versatility

When one talks of versatility, Sidharth is the more celebrated one in the department. With films like Ek Villain and Hassee Toh Phassee, the actor’s experimentation with various roles has appealed to many . Varun, on the other hand, is discussed for his performance in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, but falls short in the versatility aspect when compared to Sid.

Life without Kjo

Karan Johar has been a mentor to both Sidharth and Varun, since their SOTY days together. Where Varun stuck on to work with Kjo’s Dharma productions in Humpty, Sid moved on and made his career via other production banners and directors. The actor has been credited for exploring varied arenas regarding his ventures.
