Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth will be sharing the stage at the opening ceremony of the 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which will be held at Goa on 20th and 30th of November, 2014.
The festival promises on screening of 179 films from 75 countries across various categories which include World Cinema with 61 films, Masterstrokes consisting of 11 films, Festival Kaleidoscope of 20 films, Soul of Asia having 7 films, 6 Documentary Films and 6 Animated Films.
The newly elected Minister of State, Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore announced on Tuesday that Amitabh will be attending the fest as the Chief Guest, whereas Rajnikanth will be awarded with Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year.
There will also be retrospective sections on Gulzar and Jahnu Baruah, for special homage films on Richard Attenborough, Robin Williams, Zohra Sehgal, Suchitra Sen and a special tribute to Farooq Sheikh would be the other attractions of the festival.
