Today on the 12th of November, 2014, Ravi Chopra who was the director of the epic TV series of ‘Mahabharat’ lost his life in the late afternoon around 3pm.
He was the nephew of Yash Chopra and the son of producer-director B.R.Chopra.
It is said that he was battling against lung cancer and he couldn’t sustain the resistance. Earlier in the year 2012, October 23rd, he was diagnosed with a severe lung disorder but he was later discharged after a week of observation and procedure.
Ravi had produced movies like ‘Bhoothnath’ and ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ after his father B.R.Chopra had passed away. He was 68 years old and had directed films like ‘Zameer’ in 1975, ‘The Burning Train’ in 1980, ‘Mazdoor’ in 1983, ‘Dahleez’ in 1986, ‘Baghban’ in 2003 and ‘Baabul’ in the year 2006.
The late director was very well known for his mythological love and series as he already had shows like ‘Vishnu Puran’ and ‘Ma Shakti’. It was also said that he wanted to come back on television in this year and the next following year with his another mythological series called as ‘Vasudev Krishna’.
