Babaji ka ghanta-a phrase in HNY faces objections by CBFC

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently chalked a few objections for the phrase ‘Babaji Ka Ghanta’ that is used in the upcoming film ‘Happy New Year’.

The film was recently received certification ‘U’ from the Censor Board.

Somehow the censor board found the phrase ‘Babaji Ka Ghanta’ as vulgar. Initially the ‘HNY’ team was going to use ‘Babaji Ka Thullu’, however they felt that it would appear as if they were copying Kapil Sharma of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, as he tends to use the phrase most often on his show. So when the Censor Board objected the use of word ‘Ghanta’ then they had to replace it with the word ‘Thullu’.

Another alter that the Censor Board asked for was to change a character’s comment on someone’s posterior to ‘muscular bum’ replacing it with ‘muscular ass’. There was also another small change in dialogue ‘Teri Maa Ki’, which they had to replace with background music. There was a disclaimer added to the film in the part where Deepika Padukone dances on a song, stating ‘Alcohol is injurious to health’.
