We caught up with Deepshikha Nagpal post her eviction from Bigg Boss 8. In a candid conversation, she talked about her journey in the high voltage reality show and more…
You were considered as one of the strong players of Bigg Boss season 8, but you got eliminated way too early. What do you think went wrong?
Honestly, even I was shocked when it was announced that I have been eliminated. That’s because I was not pretending to be someone else. In real life also, I am very strict and disciplined. But it looks like people took my attitude in a very wrong way. Because I was a strong contender, I got nominated. As far as elimination is concerned, Salman (Khan) told me a very logical thing. He told me that many a times, people don’t vote thinking that this contestant is already very strong and needs no votes. But that’s not the way it works.
So how would you describe your journey in Bigg Boss 8?
It was a beautiful journey. These 21 days were like a holiday for me. I have detoxed myself. Plus I lost 6 kilos (Laughs). But yeah, I made many friends. Personally, I felt that I am staying in some hostel where we all were sharing bathrooms, laughing, cooking and doing everything else. Yes, we used to fight as well, but as they say jhagde kis ghar mein nahi hote.
Given a chance would you like to go back inside the house?
I would absolutely love to go back there. All my co-contestants were really good and positive people. And I got carried away as I started enjoying rather than playing the game.
Salman Khan said that the whole incident between Karishma Tanna and Gautam Gulati was stretched like a rubber band. Do you agree with him?
I completely agree with him. They fought, he said sorry, that’s it. It was indeed stretched like a rubber band. And amidst all this, Gautam became a hero for the entire world. Seriously, Karishma made him a star. Gautam became a bechaara person, while the rest of us were tagged as negative people. But it was nothing like that. He had his own strategy. Although he says that he doesn’t understand the game of Bigg Boss, but I can tell you this, he has a game plan in place. He does everything for the camera.
What is that one best moment and one worst moment from your 21 day stay in the Bigg Boss house?
The best moment was when I entered the house. The worst moment was when I was eliminated.
Amongst all the contestants, who is that person who is a total sly?
Puneet Issar. Same can be said for Arya Babbar as well.
Why?
From whatever I have seen of them inside the house, I find them very calculative.
And who is a scapegoat?
I was the scapegoat. That’s because I was very honest while performing all the tasks. But then amidst all this, people nominated me. Everyone thought that I was bossy and strict, but they never understood that I was not being someone else.
We have been seeing a different kind of friendship between Upen Patel and Sonali Raut. Many also think that there is a certain kind of romance between them. What do you think?
I don’t think there is any romance between them as of now. They are just good friends. But you never know what happens in the future.
