Lata Mangeshkar is the most well-known and the most respected singer in the world. She is the second vocalist to have ever been awarded the ‘Bharat Ratna’, which is India’s highest civilian honor. She is amongst those singers who have won the most number of awards as a playback singer in India. She has won awards like Bharat Ratna (2001), Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Maharashtra Bhushan Award, National Film Awards in 1972, 1974 and 1990. She has also won Filmfare Awards in 1959, 1963, 1966 and 1970. 

On her 85th birthday, we feel delighted and with the love we wish her a very happy birthday. May God bless her always and give her all the love she needs. Lata Mangeshkar, is also given the title of ‘the Nightingale’ of India, as she has a very lovely voice. Her musical career started when she was only five years old and she is the oldest among her four siblings. She has sung songs in the Hindi and also in many other regional languages.
