SYNOPSIS:

Bipasha Basu plays the character of Ahana, who positions a forest resort with world class amenities. She moves away from the city because of family issues and majorly because her father had killed himself due to several reasons. During the inaugural time of her resort, some strange death incidents were marked near the resort. When this news was reported to the forest department, they claimed that some wild animal is responsible for those deaths. Later somehow, Ahana finds out that those killings were done by a strange mysterious creature. Along with her guest, Kunal (Imran Abbas Naqvi) and professor Safana (Mukul Dev), they try to find out about that mysterious creature. What happens next is what the entire movie all about.

STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES:

Writers Vikram Bhatt and Girish Dhamija comes up with a plot which is undernourished and sluggish. The story certainly is interesting, but not very well formed while it is vital for such horror films to be well plotted. The first half is viscously fashioned and it takes its own merry time to establish the plot line; however after its establishment, the interest starts fading away because of the non terrorizing sequences of the Monster and forced romantic song which completely destroys the flow of the movie. The interval point where Bipasha say's the dialogue 'Ab yaha sirf ek hi reh sakta hai, ya wo, ya Mai', makes the audience laugh and hints that this non horrific and horrible movie would be more intolerable in the 2nd half. The second half is very much predictable. Few scenes where the Monster attacks the people are projected fine but due to the non believable logic and story the impact becomes poor. The movie holds the interest intact when Mukul Dev and his gang try to capture the creature but soon loses the grip because of its childish progression, it's a half baked logic less film. Dialogues are poor and doesn't makes any mark.

PERFORMANCES:

The actors have performed not so well. Bipasha Basu was not at her best, as she has delivered some good performances before. Imran Abbas Naqvi couldn’t do well enough to impress. Deepak Rana, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal and others just played their role; on the other hand Mukul Dev was fine but couldn’t be much of an impact.

DIRECTION, CINEMATOGRAPHY AND EDITING:

The director Vikram Bhatt tried his best to give us a technically good film that too in 3D. However, working hard on the technical facet of the film, he somehow misses to pay attention on the dramatic scenario of the movie. The Director has certainly lost to everything in direction. and losing all the fame he had got due to his previous good films. The VFX and the Monster created is fine in the film but is not horrific or terrorizing, which was the director's part to show in the presentation of the movie. Cinematography is just fine, but not up to its mark because it lacked all the chills and thrills which is very essential for any movie of this genre with all the scary moments. Editing by Kuldeep Mehan is also not the way it is supposed to be. It destroys and slashes off the many important scenes and leaves the plot line disturbed. The movie would've been much better if the director had focused more on his expertise to craft the movie with a bit of more focus on the story line as well.

ACTION, BACKGROUND SCORE AND MUSIC:

Musically Mithoon comes up with an average album, Songs are not much essential in such kind of films because they minimize the whole importance and the impact of the genre. The only song ‘Sawaan Aaya Hai’ has been nice and quite popular. The background music is really very disappointing and falls below average; and also the dubbing of the creature is very annoying.

CHOREOGRAPHY, LOCATIONS AND PRODUCTION VALUE

:There is no scope for choreography in this movie. The location of the forest resort is very good and apt for such genre. The production value is also average.

OUR VERDICT:

The movie is very predictable and it actually fails to create a desired impact. They get 1.5 stars as their rating, as it is completely a below average film. It is only the creature which is designed and animated very well, rest everything falls below average.
