As the babe makes her B-town debut this week, we take a look at her filmi career down south
Underwater archaeology and films have no connection what so ever, but aspiring archaeologist Deeksha Seth became an actor by twist of fate. Deeksha Seth was scouted during a Femina Miss India talent hunt and was persuaded to take up modelling. This turned out to be a defining moment in her career as it opened doors to the film industry.
Deeksha might be making her Bollywood debut with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, but the bubbly diva has quite a fan following down South. Not many know that like Kriti Sanon, Deeksha is a popular name in Telugu film industry. The starlet accidentally bagged an acting offer when she was spotted in Hyderabad by the director of Telugu film Vedam. It was nothing short of a dream come true for LHDD hottie, as she was paired opposite Telugu superstar Allu Arjun in Vedam. The film went on to be a big hit at box office and Deeksha’s filmi career had taken a big leap.
Later she was cast in a bunch of Telugu films like Mirapakaay, Wanted, Rebel and Nippu, romancing big names like Ravi Teja and Prabahas, tasting success in almost all the films. Kollywood did not remain untouched by Deeksha’s growing popularity and the model turned actor was cast opposite to superstar Vikram in her Tamil debut Rajapattai. Even though the film bombed, the pretty lass managed to bag another big film Vettai Mannan opposite Simbu.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil releases this weekend marking Deeksha Seth’s entry in Bollywood. It would be interesting to see if Deeksha bids goodbye to South films in case LHDD succeeds.
