The Government of Canada has provided the Medicine Hat Jazz Society with $60,000 in funding over two years ($30,000 in 2014–2015 and $30,000 in 2015–2016) through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. This investment will support the 18th and 19th editions of the Medicine Hat JazzFest.

The Medicine Hat JazzFest has grown from a grassroots community-based event to a widely recognized festival offering a mix of free and ticketed events, as well as outreach activities that include workshops, artist jam sessions, and school performances.

LaVar Payne, Member of Parliament (Medicine Hat), announced this support today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
