The Chamar Mahan Sabha has in a statement condemned the allotment of the Lok Sabha ticket for Fatehgarh Sahib reserved seat to Sadhu Singh Dharamsot by the Congress Party.

"While Dharamsot is from the Bazigar community, which has less than 50,000 votes, the Ravidasias (Chamar) have over 4 lakh votes," said Paramjit Singh Kainth, president of the sabha."This choice is part of a conspiracy," said Kainth.

"If the Congress does not change its decision on the party candidate choice from this predominantly Ravidasia seat, the Sabha will carve out its strategy for the Lok Sabha election accordingly," said Kainth.

"While the Jat Sikhs, with a population of 27 per cent, have been allotted six tickets, the Chamar community, with over 20 per cent votes, have been given only two tickets and that too in Doaba region alone. Malwa region has been ignored," said Kainth. "This wrong choice of candidates will result in heavy losses to the Congress in Malwa region," he added.

He said that while distributing the party tickets the high command of the congress party has gave preference to Adharmi's by giving two tickets and ignoring the Ravidasia.

Kainth added that the Chamar Mahan Sabha has taken a serious view of this and decided to fight back for the prestigious of Ramdasia's community.
