In continuation of their offensive against Congress’s candidate for Amritsar LokSabha seat and former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, the senior Akali leaders from Amritsar region today stated that he had already been rejected by the people of Punjab almost 9 times in a row since 2007 assembly polls.

They said twice he led his Congress party in the polls which was defeated badly by SAD-BJP which had formed the government under the able-leadership of Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Animal Husbandry Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, Chief Parliamentary secretary Inderbir Singh Bolaria, District Planning Board Chairman Vir Singh Lopoke and SAD (B) District President Upkar Singh Sandhu said Captain has lost people’s mandate already and how he will ask votes now?. They asked Captain about his attendance in VidhanSabha too. They said that as an MLA Capt had been total failure and his attendance in the assembly is one of the worst amongst the MLAs in the state. They said the VidhanSabha met for 88 times in the last seven years but Captain attendance only its 12 sittings.

They also said that there is no match between the candidature of SAD-BJP for Amritsar Seat and national leader ShriArunJaitley and that of Captain Amarinder. ``Mr. Jaitley is known for raising the public issues in the parliament in one of the best ways. He talks sense and with reason he ponder upon issues and even suggest their solutions. But what Amarinder does is just rake personal issues and always resort to the un-parliamentary language which does not behove well with the senior leaders’’, said the Akali leaders in the in the press statement issued here.

The Akali leaders said Captain was first elected as an MLA from Samana from 1992-92 and after taking oath of the office he never attended the house. They said instead of attending the house and addressing public issues he had been issuing meaningless public statements of ``FatteChakkDiayange’ which speaks large about his style of working and raking up non-issues.

They also said that regarding Captain’s availability in the MotiMahal from morning till evening, he was telling a blatant lie as he is never available to the people and his party workers. They said Captain still had not answered them that when he is not available to his own party leaders, where he will be available to the people of the state?
