State/District level committees for early clearance of ‘Grant of Sanction’ cases

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has constituted state and district level committees to clear the pendency of ‘Grant of Sanction’ cases. These committees would expedite the process of providing sanction to initiate action against officers/employees indulged in corruption.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Department, Punjab Government said that the state level committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Secretary, Vigilance, in which representative of the Vigilance Bureau, has been inducted as Member Convener and representative of the concerned department, would be Member. The state level committee would deal with the cases pertaining to class A and B officer.

 

The spokesperson further said that for clearing the cases of class C and D employees, district level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner. SP, Vigilance Bureau, In-charge of Range/representative, not below the rank of DSP, would be Member Convener, whereas the Member of the concerned department would be its Member.

 

He said that formed under the instruction of Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, these committees would review all the pending cases of ‘grant of sanction’ on monthly basis. Representative of Vigilance Bureau would provide detail of pending cases, whereas the concerned department would clarify its position regarding the pendency of the case.
